Hair of the Dog Cocktail
Ingredients
- 2 oz whiskey (bourbon or rye works well)
 - 1 oz freshly squeezed orange juice
 - 0.5 oz cinnamon syrup (recipe below)
 - Dash of bitters (optional, for extra depth)
 - Smoked wood chips (applewood or hickory work well)
 - Orange peel and cinnamon stick, for garnish
 
Cinnamon Syrup
- 1 cup water
 - 1 cup sugar
 - 2 cinnamon sticks
 
- Make the Cinnamon Syrup: In a saucepan, combine the water, sugar, and cinnamon sticks. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let steep for 10 minutes. Strain and cool. Store in a sealed container in the fridge.
 
Instructions

Prepare the Glass: Place wood chips in our heatproof smoker dish and carefully ignite them with a torch or lighter until they start to smoke. Cover the dish with an empty rocks glass, allowing it to fill with smoke for about 30 seconds.

Mix the Drink: In a shaker, combine whiskey, orange juice, cinnamon syrup, and a dash of bitters if desired. Add ice and shake well.

Serve: Strain the cocktail into the smoked rocks glass. Garnish with a twist of orange peel and a cinnamon stick.
