Strawberry basil spicy margarita

Strawberry Basil Spicy Margarita with Serrano

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Tequila (silver or reposado)
  • 1 oz Fresh lime juice
  • 3/4 oz Agave syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 3–4 Fresh strawberries, hulled
  • 1–2 Basil leaves
  • 1/2 Serrano pepper, thinly sliced (use more or less for spice level)
  • Salt or Tajín for rimming
  • Ice
  • Basil leaf and strawberry slice (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Rim the Glass: Run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass, then dip it into salt or Tajín for an extra kick.
  2. Muddle the Ingredients: In a cocktail shaker, combine strawberries, basil leaves, and serrano slices. Muddle gently until the strawberries are juiced, and the basil and serrano are fragrant.
  3. Shake It Up: Add the tequila, lime juice, agave syrup, and ice to the shaker. Shake vigorously for 15–20 seconds until well-chilled.
  4. Strain and Serve: Strain the mixture into your prepared glass over fresh ice.
  5. Garnish and Enjoy: Garnish with a fresh basil leaf and a slice of strawberry.
